Guest guest
Hi Everyone-- Well amazingly my new doc, Dr. Pizzino in Raleigh, NC ordered my adrenal test and says that my insurance will cover all but about $30. She uses a 4 times a day saliva test from Genova, it seems to be exactly like the canary club one. However, it does not include instructions on what to avoid on the day of testing. Would someone mind sharing with me what to avoid? I know coffee, but is decaf ok? What else? Also is there any way to induce more saliva? I am on elavil for pain and it causes a dry mouth. I'm worried about producing enough saliva, as I had a hard enough time producing saliva for another test even without elavil. Thanks,
Guest guest
Onions garlic and coffee are all I remember to avoid. Y9u can use anything sour to smell, dill pickles, lemons or vinegar to help with saliva production. I even used a bag of salt & vinegar chips to smell to do my last oine and ti worked veyr well. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Chocolate, too, I think. Smelling lemon juice worked fo rme. In fact, just now, remembering smelling lemon juice caused a rush of saliva. And I have a very dry mouth. sol wrote: > Onions garlic and coffee are all I remember to avoid. My instructions say not to eat - chocolate, onions, garlic, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower. Not to drink coffee, tea or caffeinated drinks (coke, guarana etc) Not to use sublingual hormones or troches as of the night before collection. Avoid antacids, bismuth medications or mouth washes. This is for thyroid, adrenal & reproductive. Cheers Jewel
Guest guest
Hi , Dr.Pizzino is very good at testing BUT she does not believe in using HC. She does very good parasite and thyroid /adrenal tests but she will not give HC.She does herbals for adrenal support. I was in stage 7 ,in adrenal failure,I almost died and without having the STTM site to follow and order my own HC I would have died. That was two years ago and hopefully she has learned more about treating adrenals. The herbals she got me to take messed with my kidneys also. (I didn't listen to Dr.Val and I paid the price My Creatine soared.I went back to listening to my dog groomer health advisor Val is the best and you will do well to get those tests through the doctor and if your cortisol is low listen to Val. Hey folks ,I am back after a long hiatus, the death of my husband..four(4) moves and much stress.I am still here and just finished two years of being on HC. I could not have gone through all this withour HC .My new doctor says I will be on it..HC.. for life BECAUSE my old doctor's almost let me die with adrenal failure. Bless you all, I think of you and am praying for you to get a new lease on life. Love, in N.C. ..... What to avoid on day of test? Guest guest
Oh darn. That is really a bummer. I thought I had hit the jackpot or something. Hopefully my adrenals won't be in too bad of shape if I can't get an Rx from her. At least I know I have you guys to help me out if I need to take matters into my own hands.
