Guest guest Posted June 20, 2007 Report Share Posted June 20, 2007 - Apparently it was not so much that they missed it before, but as the baby has grown, the amount of stenosis the coartication is causing is increasing - and the murmur is releasing all the pressure causing the oxygenated blood to mix with the blood traveling to the lungs for oxygenation, causing the heart to work - so stenosis and blending...... Cardiology will be passing a preliminary judgment tomorrow as to whether or not to do the repair prior to discharge..... holding them in my heart- yuka Re: Coarctation of Aorta (CoA), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and... Yuka, As frustrating, and heartbreaking as it is to think you're on your way home, and then to get the Infamous Charge Blindsided Revelation of More Problems, I am so thankful and relieved that the baby was not discharged. And that they have found the extenuating circumstances. (duh). I'm sorry, but HOW did they miss a coarct. Goodness. My words of encouragement? Be of good cheer.
