Guest guest
I have a 12 yr old whoe saliva test was bad. It indicates stage 7 fatigue. Depressed morning, noon and evening cortisol. Borderline low dhea (maladapted stage 1). Anyway, as you can imagine..she's not a happy or well child. She presents with symptoms as well as symptoms of Hypothyroid. (TSH is 3.04) I am running the gammet of doctors right now..and need to know exactly what testing we should be asking these people for. They seem to poo-poo the saliva panel..saying that they did not think this was entirely the problem. (huh? seems obvious to me). I am hesitant to use HC on a child. She has been on adrenal cortex for over a year, which helps control the anxiety and a few other symptoms. I hear about ACTH stim tests? Is that a bad idea? Serum cortisol? Do we need to know if this is pituitary problem or gland problem? I am buried in papers and books over here, and have tons of info on both hypoadrenal and hypothyroid. And everything points to her problems being related to this. I emailed the chief of ped endo at the big city hospital near here. but not expecting to find that he will have much info. She even shakes all the time now, her hand writing has gotten bad, I could make pages of the symptoms..and she needs help. Others??
