Guest guest
We had a Special Ed PTA end of year picnic yesterday at the beach. Our district has almost 900 classified students. (some very mild, some on the spectrum, of course on the most involved!) The Special Ed PTA has about 180 members. I am last years president, so i am still very involved. We decided to give something back to our families, and to have a picnic, also give us all a chance to get to know the other children and their families. We had over 100 people! we bbq'd, had a DJ w/music, games, face painting, gve away sand pails, bubbles etc! It was so exiciting. Everyone had a great time. Our new superintendent showed up for about 1/2 hour. She never met . She was so interested in meeting her! She has heard about her, (and also i have written a couple letters recently, as we are having a frustrating year). Anyway, she was impressed w/. She said she didn't expect to see her so able to do what she was doing. And was not doing much at the time! She asked how I have gotten to where I am w/, how I have learned all I have etc. I told her mainly this list and all of you! How we are there, helping and guiding one another. How in the beginning I was only asking, now I ask and can also offer! She talked to us for about 20 mns of the 30 she was there! I made a joke about our CSE being Wednesday, and that this year has been extremely frustrating, and the i hoped the meeting goes well. ! Have a good weekend everyone. cathie, 's mom ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
