Wow what a big move - I've no info on Alaskan doctors for you unfortunately

but wish you all the best with the move.

Hello ,

It sounds as if you have given this move a lot of thought.

I was wondering if Seattle, Portland or some places in California, which also

have many areas at sea-level, could offer options. I thought there could be a

greater variety of pulmonologists in those areas.

We also moved to find a more positive area for our daughter and don't regret it

a bit. However, we still feel sad that we had to leave so many friends.

Thankfully we visit yearly or more often, but it is not quite the same as being

there all the time.

Keep us posted on your plans!

Hi ,

I don't know really anything about the Children's Hospital in Alaska, but I do

know that Children's Hospital in Seattle is the regional hospital for

Washington, Montana, Idaho, and Alaska. One of my son's " roomies " in the PICU

after a surgery was from Alaska. We have had great experiences at Children's in

Seattle, and have nothing but good things to say about the hospital. But it's a

long way from Alaska.

, , and ,

Thanks for your responses. I have looked into the Seattle

Children's and know that the more serious kids are sent there.

We're hoping that by the time we move he'll be spending more and

more time out of the hospital and that his lungs will be a lot

better. Alaska has the perfect climate for him. That's why we

haven't considered moving to a coastal city in the lower 48.
