Dosage of Fludrocortisone?

Hi all

At last I got my flurdrocortsone but my doctor wasn't very clear about

the dose I should be taking along with my usual dose of 5mg Pred plus

2.5 h/c. The pharmacist said to start with 1/2 tablet of a 100 mcg

tablet, ie 50 mcg so that is what I took this morning and so far no

problems, its 3.30 pm and I have more energy than I would usually but

haven't tried walking yet.

Does this seem to be a typical dose people here are taking? I only

weigh around 136 lbs. Also my doctor wants me to take about 1/2

teaspoon Lo Salt daily for the potassium along with my magnesium

injections and supplements.

The pharmacists also said to check my bp regularly cos it could cause

fluid retention which would be a big change from my skin hanging on my

legs for the past 4 years cos I was so dehydrated but didn't realise it!
