Guest guest
I have become hypersensitive to everything because of adrenals. No matter how small a dose of Armour, adrenal support, HC , vitamins, etc, I get heart palps and feel adrenal push and wake at 3am. I have been on Armour 1 1/4 grain a day for 4 1/2 weeks (Synthroid prior to that since 2000) I was taking it one 15 mg tablet every 3 hours. I felt the heart palps/shortness of breath at first but they subsided some as time went on. But i never felt good on it...wired/tired feeling. Last week my symptoms increased and I took the 1 1/4 grains, but divided it into even smaller amounts and took it every hour. I felt better after 2 days. Tues/Wed this week I got very sick with the flu. Temps were 98.9 but normally between 96.2 and 97. I could only take approx 3/4 grain to 1 grain of Armour for those two days because I was so ill. During those two days I slept through the night with no waking at 3 am. (soundly from 8:30 pm to 6:00 am in the morning). Since then I cannot get back to the full 1 1/4 grain amount. I am having bad heart palps, shortness of breath, extremely irritability. I am waking in the morning feeling like lead. Then almost immediately I feel extremely hot and my heart is pounding and then I wake up. I had an opportunity to talk with Dr. Rind briefly and his suggestion was to not be on T3 at this time because it pushes the adrenals more than I can handle. What are your thoughts? Even taking 1/4 of a 1/4 grain tablet sublingually I still feel hyper sensations. Is it wise to switch to stop Armour for a period of time to allow the adrenals to rest? Should I switch to T4 (Synthroid) to help maintain the T4 stored in the tissues to avoid needing to wait the 4-6 weeks again to get it to build later? (what would be the conversion of 1 1/4 sublingual Armour to T4?) I have not done a saliva test test for adrenals but did BP, temp, and symptoms when thryoid meds increased. Thanks for your input.
