Guest guest
we have private insurance, but erika also qualifies for a medicaid waiver program for her. However, none of her doctors accept medicaid. So i would be very careful and check with the ones you are happy and comfortable with before you drop anything. I even have two that dont even accept any insurance anymore. we have to pay first and submit. I think it may depend also on where you live and how much they get reimbursed. Guest guest
, is now 23 and has Medicaid. However, our private insurance remains her main policy; Medicaid picks up the slack. Recently, despite quite full coverage, I've been trying to set up appointments with new drs. I'd swear that the office folks hear " Medicaid " and issue an automatic refusal to make an appointment. At least in Missouri, if possible, it's best to maintain private insurance. Martha
