Guest guest
a. Do I take 200mcg T4? I would not. Too much T4 if you cannot convert properly will only cuase you more problems in the long run, it certainyl did for me and they had me all the way up to 500mcg! b. Do I order Armour and start that instead? I would wait to get the adrenla testing and decide from there. With weak adrenals you areunlikely to handle Armour well, and hlding till you get some adrenal support in place would be wise. C. Do I take extra T4 until I see an endo? I do nto think that will be helpful. d. Do I remain hypo until I see an endo? Not certain an Endo would be any help either. Good ones are liek finding a needle in a haystack. e. Anyone know a useful endo between Leeds and East Coast inc. North East Yorkshire and Teeside? Sorry no help here. >>Doc also said my ferritin was fine, but I have still started taking an extra iron pill a day but it is difficult to fit it in without stopping absorbtion of the thyroid hormone.<< 70-90 is fine. >>I intend to start supplementing my cortisol by using hydrocortisone ezcema cream after my adrenal test because I failed the raglan test. My pupils work very hard to stay constricted in light but flicker open<< You should have a BOP monitor and a GOOD accurate thermometer to help adjust cortisol. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Wow Val thanks, invaluable help there I will definately not do the extra T4. I ordered a saliva kit from TEK but it is 5 days now and it has not arrived yet. So I need a good blood pressure monitor, BOP? is that what it is? (I have high bp diasolic ranges from 95 =118 it has been going up over the last 10 years I am now on Olmatec for it but still not low ) and my thermometer. So I assume that monitoring cortisol involves getting the morning temperature at normal? And what am I aiming for with the bp monitor? Sorry for the query on that, I am not as familiar with adrenal function as I should perhaps be when considering hc supplementation. luv Dawn
Guest guest
To monitor temps I prefer to use a method described here www.drrind.com it is three times a day and a PIA but it helps us ot determine when the cortils is high enough so really is great as no testing once on HC is accurate. Sorry I make MANY typos, and type too many emails to redo them all! BOP just shoul;d have been BP and BO usually is too when I type too fast! LOL With a BP monitor you would be looking for first sitting then immediately after standing to see if the systolic rises. That is a good indication of ENOUGH cortils as well. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
