anesthesia and anger

Hi Everyone,

My daughter, Charlotte 3 1/2, had a few procedures under general anesthesia

yesterday, PE tubes, bronchoscopy, ABR and an MRI of her lungs. She was

under for approximately 2 1/2 hours. We joined back up with her in the

recovery

room and she was awake, but not making eye contact with us. Her blood

pressure was normal and stable and the hospital staff felt she was fine to go

home.

Once we got home and she became a bit more active and rather aggressive in

her behavior, hitting and slapping at us. I gave her some Tylenol since I

thought maybe she was reacting to some pain.

Late in the afternoon, she became very upset and actually appeared to have a

sort of seizure, something we have never observed in her before. She turned

bluish, eyes rolled back and became rigid. This resolved within seconds,

and she seemed fine right after.

Charlotte is non-verbal and does hit from time to time, but yesterday's

reactions were beyond anything we've seen in her. I read here on this list a

few

weeks back about different mood reactions to anesthesia.

My question, are those negative and angry emotions resolved once the

anesthesia is fully out of the system or did it linger? And, has anyone ever

observed a seizure-like episode after anesthesia?

Charlotte seemed okay this morning, after a restless night's sleep.

Thank you all for any input. Always appreciated.
