Dear Jeff,

Thank you for your kind response. My daughter also had a trach for many

years.

Too many, no doubt. But it worked so well for her, I was hesitant to change

anything. There was no RSV vaccine then, but we wouldn't have needed it.

(Luck?) We had the other vaccines, (and recently for bac. meningitis), just

later and spread out,

and the fact that she seemed to have been fine with them proves nothing ;-)

I realize.

Right off the bat, maybe we could say that on this list, A/ASD discussion

in NO WAY

endorses forgoing vaccination. If we all agree on that, and I think we do,

then we could

discuss the ongoing findings without needing to get sidetracked onto that

avenue.

I personally have never meant to suggest " don't vaccinate " .

Then, we parents might put together some questions for the Pede. as to

timing, as

perhaps splitting up the vaccines so they are not multi-dose, just as we ask

about other

things.

I also have read anecdotes about parents in science/engineeing. Very

interesting.

From your knowledge were they involved with hands on chemical/radiological

engineering,

or are some of them just in academia, suggesting just left-brain dominant

individuals?

I do have concerns just as a person, about the ADD/ADHD/OCD/PDD/NOS etc.

that

some Charge children have, and if following the unfolding A/ASD research

will bring any

light to these problems. It might also be a window to immune system

functioning, with

some specific relevance to Charge.

In regard to autism/asd, my only agenda is that we continue to speak about

it, stay informed

about it, and as you say, present all sides, and also present those things

we're finding

in daily life that had an effect on our kids, both positive and negative.

The only measure of " rightness " is whether or not something helps them to

live a better

life.

So, as long as we're all talking, my toes are fine. lol.

;-)

in Ma.
