Guest guest
Debbie, I'm small framed also, 5', up to 128lbs, again. Lost 5 lbs quickly at first after treating my thyroid but have gained it back since starting the HC. I don't recall my recent labs but Val said T4 and T3 should be higher. I have Hashi's. That is my motivation for taking the HC. My last two TSH tests were ..57 and then back up to 1.47. I want to take more thyroid to lower my TSH to stop the antibody attacks and save as much of my thyroid as I can. As I've learned on here, you need adrenal health to do that (I'm probably a late stage 4/early 5). Prior to starting Levoxyl and then Armour just over a year ago, I had my cortisol levels tested through ZRT Lab. I wasn't even interested in the cortisol but did it for estrogen and progesterone info due to night sweats and to test for TPO antibodies since the endo I'd seen hadn't done that, duh! It was fortunate that I did that testing then. Cortisol levels were low/normal at that time. After a year on thyroid meds I tested again............the cortisol bottomed out! That scared me since I'd been reading about that very thing on this group! Even though I was feeling so much better and functioning again I had to pay attention to that red flag! I take 2 grains Armour. Until recently I took it all in the am right before breakfast. Now, since switching to sublingual, I take 1 grain in the am and 1 around noon. I'm sure taking it twice a day is changing my absorption in addition to doing it sublingual. I'm really not crazy about doing HC but after seeing my adrenals decline further I felt my options were: Take two years off. Spend lots of time resting (I'm single and running a business, fat chance!) and pumping in supplements and glandulars hoping that my thyroid survives the Hashi's. Take the HC with the hope that it will heal things and enable me to take more Armour. Holding good thoughts for HC success here!
