Guest guest
Hi, I recently started HC b/c my adrenals are pretty wiped out. Cortisol: Morning 13 (13-24 norm) Noon 1 (5-10 norm) Afternoon <1 (3-8 norm) Midnight 7 (1-4 norm) Cortisol burden = 22 DHEA = 3 (3-10 norm) I also use some natural progesterone cream 20 mg daily. I was reading on Dr. Lam's site that hypoadrenal state can lead to low DHEA and pregnenalone which gets progressiviley worse w/ HC usage. I'm looking for other's experience and opinons about supplementing DHEA and pregnenalone while on HC. Is this range indicative of the need for supplementation? DHEA = 3 (3-10 norm) If so, 20 mgs daily? Do I need to get pregnenalone tested before starting? Thanks!

Guest guest
Prometrium IS progesterone --- bioidentical progesterone. I took it for several years and have now switched to compounded progesterone cream. Progesterone is a precursor of aldosterone and cortisol as well as testosterone. If you are afraid of taking Prometrium -- you can try out progesterone supplementation by getting an over the counter progesterone cream at any health food store. You wouldn't be getting as much as you would get in Prometrium, but might be less scary for you to try. Prometrium, by the way, makes most people sleepy, so it's great to take at night -- always helped me sleep.
