Thank you so much for your post, . I really appreciate it.

I started Cortef today (it was v. difficult to get, even with

compounding pharmacices in our area...odd) and have purchased

supplements recommended by my dr. (she says they are pharmacy-grade

and it get them from her, not health food store).

I've have fantasised for years about being able to freeze the world

and just sleep for about five years. It is a fantasy, but reflects

how incapable I feel of doing *anything* in life. I DO everything I

am supposed to do, like creating a home, caring for three small

children, trying to form some semblence of a life, dealing with

maritial probs, etc. But in terms of how I feel, I want to just stop

the world and get off, eat protein and sleep. :-(

I am grateful to have lab readings and a dx, b/c for years family

members have told me to just take a nap, or get off the internet at

night, whatever. My fatigue is not helped by one or even ten naps!!

I know, I've tried! And then have felt like a failure when I wake

feeling like I haven't slept in months even after an 'early night' to

bed or nap. Talk about despair. Without coffee, I would not have

been able to have three kids in four years time and not take to bed!

Thanks again.

I'm not asking to try and contradict my dr., but simply b/c I have no

idea what is a typical protocol: is it typical for a physician to

say, 'I don't need to look at your thyroid' and for that to remain

unknown? No labs, nothing? Just focus on adrenals (and in my case,

compounded progesterone as well)?

I feel like, 'why not test to at least find out what the thyroid

situation is?' But I'm not the doctor, of course. :-)

Thanks again.
