Guest guest
From the prescribing information at Drugs.com " Other corticosteroids (cortisone-like medicine)—Using any corticosteroid medicine with fludrocortisone will cause the body to get rid of both medicines faster. This may make either or both medicines less effective. Also, fludrocortisone and other corticosteroids decrease the amount of potassium in the blood, which may increase the chance of severe low blood potassium " I dont' know if this includes hydrocortisone, but I have noticed the Florinef either working better or just stronger as I have weaned down and almost off of prednisolone. Maybe it is a coincidence. Maybe it is not. Lacey

My bp is up to 144/88 much higher than normal for me and I don't feel well. I can feel pressure and dizziness in my head and also get severe raised heartbeats with anxiety 1st thing in the morning after eating and also on Monday evening after eating They come in the form of attacks which are really horrible. Yesterday I felt better, my body felt stronger and I didn't take the Florinef till 12 pm whereas Sunday and today I took if with breakfast. I took my 5mg Pred and 25 thyroxine at 5 am when I woke up, went back to sleep till 7.45 and took my 1 grain Armour. My other dose of 1/2 grain Armour (have cut back since starting Florinef cos of the way I am feeling) was after my lunch and again didn't feel great. I wonder if others have struggled in this way with Florinef. I am positive I need it cos I have been very dehydrated for quite a while and my skin does look much more plummped up. It was taking sea salt that brought me out of an adrenal crash in February. My doc told me to take potassium with the Florinef but I think it was the wrong thing to do at this stage cos since on the Florinef I didn't feel like I was producing any stomach acid which I have read happens with excess potassium to sodium. I find it very disappointing to feel unwell like this when I am sure I need the Florinef. Pam
