Guest guest
We use an optical store that specializes in children's eyewear. Try on like for your area " kids optical " . We are able to by sunglasses and we use wire rims so that they stay on Garlands face. These allow them to adjust the nose pieces. Good luck. , Randy & Garland (5.5 yrs.) Guest guest
Tonya- We use Transition Lenses for Aubrie. At first, the opthamologist thought they would not change quickly enough for Aubrie. But she adjusted to them very well. They may not get dark enough for some kids, but they have been just right for us. And way easier than trying to have the clip-on sunglasses in the right place when you need them. Because coloboma contributes to light sensitivity, our eye dr always adds this to her Rx. Our insurance doesn't cover optical so it doesn't make a difference now. For a while, the state coverage for children with special healthcare needs would pay for the Transition lenses but they don't anymore. It costs us something like $30-40. Guest guest
Also try this site: http://www.solobambini.com/index.html Como makes soft, flexable frames with straps around the back for babies and kids (and I believe they also have a line of larger frames for special needs). These are ophthalmic quality frames (meaning prescription lenses can be put in them--just have the lenses tinted and add a UV coating if necessary and you will have sunglasses). Guest guest
Be careful of the UV coating, it does come off and interferes with vision. , Randy & Garland Goodwin ---- Key Storrs evansmomndad@...> wrote: ============= Also try this site: http://www.solobambini.com/index.html Como makes soft, flexable frames with straps around the back for babies and kids (and I believe they also have a line of larger frames for special needs).
