Guest guest
Well obviously all the prayers helped!! My super trouper Amélie went to theatre late 5.30pm last on the list, expecting her to be double trouble!! No VENT Amélie came out of recovery screaming crying rocking and very very cross with her mummy & Daddy, We were so thrilled the recovery nurse could not understand why we were so happy, she said parents usually cry and get distressed!! We were so relieved she wasnt vented... its a first!! Amélie still went to ICU for 36 hours as everyone expected the decline to follow which she always manages to do! NOT this time...my girl was on a ward yesterday and home at 7.30pm this evening. The PCT local authority have had to put a night carer in for 7 nights perweek until respiratory review on 6th June, and then hopefully a new package will be done for respite support from there on. A few ups and downs...shes had some bradys and so they suspended her propranolol arranged echo and ecg, and then reinstated the propranolol today, they plan a 24 hour recording in two weeks time, but they did not seem too phased. BAD news the ENT said her tonsil and adenoids were actually small in comparison to most kids, and so now the respiratory team have said to see how she is on her stas once the swelling goes down, and if she still persists to obstruct then we will look at the other options, BIPAP or trach! I pray now that we need neither as I feel she has managed this far without this intervention. When she arrived home this evening she was so happy to see her sisters, its been a worrying week for nothing, she took it all in her stride, and shows me how much stronger she has become. thanks to you all for the support...lets see what happens with the nightimes
