Guest guest
Hi Crystal- Gee, I didn't remember you describing possible seizure activity before. Can you wrap her head in a bandana or something- I hope someone has some grand ideas to keep little hands off the wires. So far everything that's flashed through my mind-oh wait-how about a robot costume (homemade) with box for a body and fat cardboard tubes for arms- You can make up her face in front of a mirror- but then she " can't touch " so she doesn't mess up her makeup. Or hours of playdough to busy her hands- --- Or maybe they have solutions for you, cuz I think I'm getting weird. lol Good luck-I hope it turns out to be easy!! in Ma. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
Eva is going to have one on Monday and she will have to keep about 20 wires on her head until Wednesday. The plus side is we get to do this at home but I have to keep track of her and all her wires. OH BOY!! This should be fun. But we are seeing if she is having sizures and how long they are. The doctor today gave me a script to start her on meds for sizures so we will see how it all goes. Guest guest
Well we do have what is called nobends we put them on her arms so she cant pull the wires. I got them when we had to start patching her eye so she wouldnt pull the patch off. A few months ago the Development therapist was here and Eva has these episodes where she stops everything and doesnt move or blink and we cant bring her back. So we are checking for sizures. I just hope she does this at least once while the wires are on so we can get some answers. She is also missing part of her corbus calosum so we have to keep an eye on that and see if that has anything to do with whats going on with her. Guest guest
Crystal, We did 's first EEG at home, too. We worried and worried about how to keep her hands away from her head, especially since she hates ANYTHING on her head, but wouldn't you know it, the little stinker never touched her head once while the wires were on! The nurse who put on the wires did wrap all the wires in a gauze kind of headwrap/ponytail, which helped. We still thought would pull at the gauze, though, but she never did. We just tried keeping as busy as we could. We got out of the house a lot--took her for drives, took her for walks in her wagon, etc.--anything to keep her busy and distracted and to make the time go fast. Good luck! I hope you get some answers for Eva. The whole neurology area is still the biggest missing piece of the puzzle for right now. , mom to (5) http://kauffmanlak.blogspot.com/ --------------------------------- Ahhh...imagining that irresistible " new car " smell?
