Guest guest
Well, my husband wasn't comfortable treating adrenals without a doctor. The good news: We found a doctor that prescribes HC and uses saliva tests. The bad news: She uses equal 5 mg doses (compounded capsules) 4 times a day, doesn't feel there's ever a need to stress dose, and wants him to go off (cold turkey) for 5 days in 3.5 months and test saliva again. She already seems a little irritated with my questions. Any advice? As far as I know, she is the only doctor in the area that uses HC. (If anyone knows of someone in Southern Oregon, please let me know.) Thanks, Beth
Guest guest
Doesn't sound to good to me. First, irritated with your questions = time to go. Cold Turkey = bad bad bad news - time for a new doc No stress dose = bad bad news - it even states in the flyer that you get with the HC from the pharmacy that stress dosing for illness surgery etc is absolutely necessary. On the equal doses, I don't know. I guess it works for some people In The Safe Use of Cortisol the doctor only did even dosing but every hear and on RTH say natural rhythm dosing. I think the first three are enough to run. If you get started on the HC and then can't get any from this doc, I think that's worse than not starting on HC at all. > Well, my husband wasn't comfortable treating adrenals without a > doctor.
