Guest guest
Has anyone else experienced splotchey looking arms? The tops of my arms look like I'm always cold, which they probably are, I just can't feel the difference. It looks like the circulation is really bad and reddish splotches are on them all of the time. I've had it for a couple of years. Also, does anyone else have trouble with sore throat and/or swelling of the throat when they change thyroid meds? I've recently upped my Cytomel and my throat is sore again. Funny thing is that the other day my throat was not sore, and I was shocked, I noticed that it was the first time in years that I didn't have a sore throat. Too bad it only lasted a day. Due to my labs and Val's recommendations, I'm considering Florinef, and from what I " ve read online, I'd already considered Cortef, but I'm scared to make the leap that I'll overdo it somehow and end up with weight gain and a moonface. The stress that more weight would give me would surely screw my adrenals up more. I need to set a good example for my clients and don't want to go overboard and not realize it.....can anyone share the experiences of their first few weeks, so I'll know what to expect. I'm so tired right now, I don't know what to add first, the iron supplements, since my ferritin is so low, or the cortef to get my cortisol and energy up, or the florinef to work with my low potassium and sodium. I just started the 4 supplement 's program and don't know whether to give it a chance first, or what I might need to add to it to get to feeling better sooner... Sorry to ask so much, I'm just a big advance preparation person and like to look at all info before diving into something new, I just know something has to change or life is just not liveable at this stage..... Thanks for any input... Terri
Guest guest
Hey Terri, For what it's worth, I had a notropath once tell me that there is a connection with chinese medicine and a hormonal sore throat. I know this sounds crazy, but I have been getting a sore throat for the last several years a day or two prior to getting my period. This stopped once I got on my thyroid meds. (Oddly, upon switching meds and finding that I am Hypo again, I got a sore throat this last time.) Since this is all hormonal too, you might want to check into it. I have also had what doc's refer to as " poor circulaton " on my legs since childhood. If I stood too long I would notice 'white splotches' on my legs that would go away if I rubbed them. (reason 115 why I believe I was born Hypo). > > Has anyone else experienced splotchey looking arms?
