Can DHEA increase hypo?

Started DH on 5 mg DHEA last Saturday. He felt GREAT Sat, Sun, and

Mon. Hadn't had that much energy in months. Tu-Th was stressful at

work and he stress dosed a little since he felt nauseous. He

normally takes 30 mg HC daily, 35 on stressful days. But starting

Tu, he started having more hypo symptoms: fatigue, stools getting

harder when they'd loosened since starting Armour, tight muscles,

etc. He is currently on 2-7/8 grain Armour, temps averaging between

98.0 - 98.2. His lowest temp average before was 97.5, so he has made

steady progress temp-wise.

He was seeming less hypo every week with the 1/4 grain raises, but

now seems to have gone backwards. The only change is the addition of

DHEA. Does this use up thyroid like adding cortisol does, making you

feel more hypo? Does DHEA need to be raised like thyroid so increase

from 5 mg to 10? Or stop it? Have I passed his sweet spot? What

are RT3 symptoms? Any other ideas what I might try?

Also, for those who say you can't tolerate DHEA, what symptoms

exactly do you get?

Thanks,

Barb

DHEA should ALWAYS increase energy or not be felt. I would give it a few

more days after the stressful days to make certain it is not an adrenal

slump, but if the tired low feeling continues, I wou,ld stop the DHEA

and see if it improves. My probalmes hwith DHEA have been breaking out

wiht acne-like pimples and just not gettign ANY benefit from it.
