Guest guest
I have read which antibody shows Hashi's and which Grave's but I can't keep that info in my brain. I have it saved somewhere. But there are two basic antibody tests that should be done one is for the Hashi's one for Grave's I think if you googled Hashimoto's antibodies and Grave's antibodies that should find the info. Or try the list archives as I think it has been discussed here in the past. Let me know if you can't find out. And I'll try to find my saved info tomorrow. sol smylze111 wrote: > Do you know which antibodies are different? > > >> >>> >From a diagnostic standpoint, what's the difference? >>> >>> >>> >> Hashimoto's results in hypothyroid, Grave's results in hyperthyroid. >> > The > >> antibodies are different. >> >> sol >> >> > > > > > >

It has to do with how the Hashi's antibodies attack the thyroid. I'm not really competent to describe it more than that. Again a google search should turn up the info you want. And I think there is info on both Hashimoto's and Graves at STTM. sol

Guest guest
Graves diagnosis is high TSI antibodies (stimulating TRab) accompanied by high Ft3 and Ft4 with low TSH. Those with Graves may also have pretibial myxedema or Graves Eye Diseases (both caused by TSI). Hashis is high TPO antibodies (blocking or binding TRab) accompanies by low Ft3 and FT4 with high TSH.
