Those antibody results would be considered negative.

1 microgram (mcg) is 1/1000th of a milligram (mg).

Selenium is always mcg (micrograms). 200 MG (milligrams) of selenium

would be a lethal overdose.

No, mcg is correct. Sorry about that. It doesn't need to be taken

separately.

protein bar around 11:00-12:00 when I take my cortisol and then I eat

an apple or fruit with nuts around 1:00. I have a cleaning company

and I usually only do one house with the exception of two days a

month I do two. I usually don't work more than 6 hours a day. I

will try and bring a pbj or something more substantial. Any

suggestions? Better to eat throughout the day or 3 meals? II was a

big dieter in the past, so I am sure that had a lot to do with it and

I am an over achiever.

Probably your past dieting hurt you, but sounds like you're eating ok

now. My rule is: eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full.

Sometimes I get hungry mid-afternoon, so I eat. Othertimes my lunch

is enough, so I don't eat. Your body tells you when to eat. But if

you ignore it, I guess that's when your body starts cranking out the

RT3.

should I cut back on today? So far I took about 6.25 mg at 7:30.

The shakes have finally subsided, but I did have to take a small

piece of xanax.

Cortisol calms most people down, so that is strange, unless it's

pushing your T3 to the cells all at once. But haven't you been at

this dose for more than 3 days? Shakes are usually a sign you need

to take some cortisol. I'd take whatever Val recommends.

tests were negative for antibodies??? I am not sure how to read

them, but my doctor said they were negative. Would my test show zero

if I was negative for antibodies? I thought I was in the normal

range and you had to be over to have positive antibodies???

I thought anything above 0 was positive, but if your doctor (and

Linn) said they were negative, then I guess that's how you read

them. In the saliva labs you're either negative or positive.

Linn~

You mentioned my results on my antibodies results would be considered

negative. Then you said the fact that they're positive means I have Graves or

Hashimotos??? Do you mean I do not have Graves or Hashimotos? Would antibodies

be positive to have Graves. I know if the antibodies is positive it could mean

Hashimotos.

Re: Graves

Barb,

I am taking a multivitamin that has selenium 200 mcg in it. Should I be

taking it seperate? Looks like you have 200 mg is that correct? Is that a lot

more than what I am taking. I am not good at conversions. My doctor only told

me to take a mutlivitamin with selenium, maganese and zinc. I will try and eat

better. I am one that grazes throughout the day. I am bad at eating lunch when

I am at work. I usually have a protein bar around 11:00-12:00 when I take my

cortisol and then I eat an apple or fruit with nuts around 1:00. I have a

cleaning company and I usually only do one house with the exception of two days

a month I do two. I usually don't work more than 6 hours a day. I will try and

bring a pbj or something more substantial. Any suggestions? Better to eat

that had a lot to do with it and I am an over achiever.

Thanks for your help, I really needed it today. These hyper, panicky

feelings are scary and depressing as I feel like I am going backwards and I have

worked so hard to go forward......

When you are feeling hyper after taking Cortisol how much should I cut back

on today? So far I took about 6.25 mg at 7:30. The shakes have finally

subsided, but I did have to take a small piece of xanax. The weird thing is I

also feel hypo with brain fog...I thought the tests were negative for

antibodies??? I am not sure how to read them, but my doctor said they were

negative. Would my test show zero if I was negative for antibodies? I thought

I was in the normal range and you had to be over to have positive antibodies???

Thanks Barb. I am sorry for the load of questions. I went over these with my

doctor and she said they were good.

do?

The antibody tests you listed below. I guess the fact that they're

positive means you have Graves or Hashimoto's.

Did you ever have saliva labs done? Were you ever on Synthroid?

Some things that might help lower your RT3 are taking 200 mg selenium

daily if you aren't already, and if you're a chronic, yo-yo dieter,

that is actually a CAUSE of RT3, so eat regularly. Starvation type

diets increase your RT3.

My Cortisol free serum was .30 (range .20-1.80). So, I was diagnosed

with first hypothyroidism and then after I could raise my thyroid

adrenal insufficiency. My antibodies; Anti-microsome (TPO) was 15

(range 0-34) and my anti-thyroglobin was 21 (range 0-40). The deer in

the headlights or stare doesn't happen all the time. I don't have

protruding eyes.
