Guest guest
OH my gosh, Crystal. so much to happen to such a little body!! Know I will be thinking of you and Sweet Pea and waiting for word. pam please remember us this week I just wanted to ask if yall could remember Chrystine this Wednesday. She had 4 surgeries (bronchoscopy, microlaryngoscopy, endoscopy, andsomething else... i'm sorry..) a CT scan and an MRI of her spine last week. some low resting heart rates. CT revealed that the VSD is still there, she'll have the patch done soon- i think in a cath lab. if the MRI shows tethered cord, then she'll have to have the semi-permanent catheter placement and eventual spinal cord surgery... we're still waiting for all the biopsies to come back from the endoscopy... the airway is very small. something else-throat is very red and swollen in places it shouldn't be... will know more tomorrow. wednesday are the big ones. left nephrectomy, left ureterctomy, right ureter stint and reimplantation to attempt to save right kidney and " fix " gade 5 vesicourteral reflux on the right side. im terrified truthfully. think of her. a little child unaware. i could use some friends tonight. chrystal _www.caringbridge.org/chrystinehopecrites_ (http://www.caringbridge.org/chrystinehopecrites) ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
Chrystal- Of course you're terrified. I am always grateful for the extent that Aubrie is " unaware " . I know you are relieved that Chrystine is unaware. I will keep you both in my prayers - hoping for the best outcomes for her and peace of mind for you :-) Michele W Aubrie's mom 9 yrs

Guest guest
Dear Chrystal, My, you and Chrystine have much on your plate right now. --- I read recently that steroids can bring down the throat swelling, if it wouldn't interfere with her kidneys. Or perhaps she's already on steroids. -- Our house will hold you both in thought and prayer. in Ma. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
I am using one of the hospital's lap tops and unfortunately, it will not allow me to update chrystine's caringbridge website. But I am soooo HAPPY to report that she is doing well. Her surgeries lasted just shy of 6 hours yesterday so because of somuch anesthesia, she has had some difficulty and needed some oxygen several times. She is resting well now. A doctor from the urology team agreed to letting her eat this morning and when her Daddy handed her a bottle, she eagerly grabbed it from him and it tickled us sooo much. She quickly downed 3 ounces (her normal intake) and we decided to give her more, which she ate and has kept down. There are many drains attached to her bladder and incision sites, they're there to help the belly from filling with blood. Her nurse from her urology department called this morning and set her stint removal for MAy 30th (she has a stint throughout her ureter and into her right kidney to prevent swelling). There is one drain that might be permanent for a while because the furo dynamics test proved that her bladder is only emptying at about 70 % and it must be protected. However, when I was seeing my Mom, Grandmother and sister off I couldn't help myself. I started jumping and shouting to the Lord for bringing her through the operations safely. I see a new light for my daughter. A healthier life in which we do not live in fear of urinary tract infections.... it might be too early for me to have my hopes up so high... but I can't help it. I have seen Chrystine and God together. There is NOTHING they can't seem to accomplish. thanks again to all of you for being my friends who understand and care, I have a feeling that very soon, I will be able to help you all more and ill need a little less. i think these operations may have saved my daughter. chrystal Re: please remember us this week You've got a friend in Dallas!
