Guest guest
All, My doctor gave me a prescription for 2.5mg of cortisol which the compounding pharmacy made for me. I asked them where it came from and they said from yam. It was natural cortisol and not synthetic. The first day I took it I felt great, but I hurt in my joints some. The second day I took it, that night I had a horrible anxiety, panic attack. That was not normal for me. The third day I felt okay. The fourth day all day I cried and cried and cried. I was out of control. I did not take it the fifth day. Then I was back to normal. I told the doctor what happened to me. He said I was adjusting and try later. A week later I tried it again and my joints hurt. I was scared and stopped. I decided to find something else and came upon Isocort. I am not having issues with Isocort, but it isn't as strong as the compounded cortisol. I called the pharmacist that compounded it for me and they told me it was natural and never heard of anyone reacting to it at that tiny dosage. I would like to go back to compounded cortisol. I just don't understand why I acted the way I did. I am wondering if being on Isocort for a little while and then trying again the cortisol. Thanks
Guest guest
What did your pre treatment saliva labs look like? Often the peole that are the lowest in cortiso have the most problems adjusting to it. Are you just taking 2.5mg every day or are you increasing it? 2.5mg a day is a tease for your adrneals not treatment. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
The doctor wanted me on compounded cortisol 2.5mg for one week, take in the morning. Then when the one week was done to double it, which would be 5mg in the morning. I never reached the 5mg. > > What did your pre treatment saliva labs look like? Guest guest
Ha ha ha...it was a truck not trunk ..... It was 8:00am in the morning on the way to work. It was hauling lumber and I was in a little Toyota corolla. I was in front of him and side of him being dragged. I had no way of escaping..... Another car had to drive in front of the truck to get him to stop because we were on a bridge and the truck was pushing me against the railing. Anyhow, I never felt the same and I knew I really had severe adrenal fatigue and my salivia tests were already very low to begin with. > > > I did my saliva test 2 years ago and the morning I remember being a 2 and at night it went up to 5, very slowly. I do not have the test in front of me the doctor borrowed it. Then I had a horrible car accident with a trunk that dragged me down a freeway and almost threw me off a bridge. After that I never felt the same and I knew I had severe adrenal fatigue. I tried different supplements, diets etc... after that accident which is almost two years now. I decided to go to the doctor. He knew I had severe adrenal fatigue and from looking at my test before the accident it was obvious I had gotten worse. He decided to try me on cortisol at a low level. Then I acted really weird on it as I wrote. With Isocort I feel fine and more energy, though not exactly the level I had 2.5 years ago. I wonder if my body was so low it was like a rush or something. > > I am a person with a very sensitive body. My grandmother, mother and I are sensitive to drugs. I have a big list of drugs I can't take. > > > > > To: NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS@...: artisticgroomer@...: Thu, 20 Mar 2008 18:03:10 -0400Subject: Re: Compounded Cortisol > > > > > What did your pre treatment saliva labs look like? Guest guest
These drug senmsitivities are common with VERY low crtisol as th e body simply can't process it right. I would tyr to find a steroids tht you CAN tolerate even if it means going to Pred or Medrol which may work better for you., -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
My list is getting smaller and smaller. I can't use: Prednisone Spirnaclatone Z-pak Cortef I think anything that is synthetic my body will refuse. Isocort I have been able to use. I may try again the cortisol from the compounded yams. Maybe it was too strong for too soon. They the pharmacists told me it was identical to what the body made. - > > These drug senmsitivities are common with VERY low crtisol as th e body > simply can't process it right.
