Guest guest
, I would just try to keep exposing him to it bit by bit and try to distract him with a new toy/ball/something he loves to get his mind off of it. KEnnedy had a few of these sensitivities but we just kept plugging along (she would NEVER walk on grass, e.g.) Good luck! -- Weir Personal Web Site: http://chargesyndrome.info The Adventures of Kennedy Blog: http://chargesyndrome.blogspot.com Secretary, CHARGE Syndrome Foundation Inc: http://www.chargesyndrome.org Email: lisa@... Guest guest
Makenna hated her feet in the water for along time. We just kept trying little by little to put her feet in the water. Sounds like you are doing the right thing with pouring the water over his feet. I wondered with Makenna if it was sensory and vision. I think she has trouble seeing the bottom of the pool or bathtub with water in it, so she was afraid to put her feet down. She loves the water now, can't get her out of a pool or lake once she is in it. Grass and sand were also hard for her. This is the first year she has walked in grass unassisted and she is six. Still won't put her barefeet down in it but will with sandals on Keep working he will get it. , mom to Makenna 6 > > We've had quite the puzzle for the past few weeks. We couldn't figure out why Jack LOVES his bath but gets incredibly upset when we put him in the pool. We've even tried putting warm water in the pool and he still gets mad. We had no idea what the difference was! Then tonight we figured it out. Jack's bathtub is like a mesh bouncy seat that sits in the tub. He loves to sit there and kick the side of the tub and then we pour the water over his legs and feet. When we were getting ready to take him out we got him in a standing position and put his feet in the water so he could splash. As soon as his feet were submerged he started screaming! > > We figure that he has some sort of sensitivity to his feet being submerged. Has anyone else had to deal with this with their CHARGErs? I have no idea what to do! I obviously have to help him get over this....on the other hand, it would keep him from jumping in puddles.... > > > ~ > Mom of Jack (9mo.
