Guest guest
Bel, Depends on what you are looking for.. There are the usual tourist things, the wharf and all that is there, some great museums, some really crazy places, yup Height Ashbury is still going strong, stuck still in the 60's LOL.. My whole family loves the Exploratorium.. Golden Gate park is beautiful but you only want to be in certain parts of it. you could spend a couple days just doing the whaarf stuff... tons of navel history there.. The boys second fav there is Gheridelli Chocolates. Gheridelli Square is right near the wharf and has TONS of fancy shops You could take a tour to the north and do the Wine Country thing.. a fun one is a balloon flight through the Napa valley.. there is the Napa Valley Train, it has a neat dinner ride with a fancy dinner and wine tasting, cheaper to do the regular ride tho.. Let me know what you would like and I can check into it... I live about 100 miles from SF and about 45 from Napa. Do the Napa thing and there is all sorts of other stuff besides wineries, Six Flags Marine World and MY fav Jelly Belly factory, some great B&B's, some world famious spas (nothing like a good old fashioned volcanic mud bath LOL) Let me know, Casey ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____Take the Internet to Go: Yahoo!Go puts the Internet in your pocket: mail, news, photos & more. http://mobile.yahoo.com/go?refer=1GNXIC

Guest guest
Bel, Instead of the bus why not take the train ??? It takes forever on the bus and it goes up the central valley, the train goes up the coast, better scenery You can check out the train at www.amtrak.com I am thinking of taking the train if I get to go to the conf. I can get you a bunch of pamphlets of places to go and see if you want. Casey ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____Boardwalk for $500? In 2007? Ha! Guest guest
Bel, I so agree with Casey about Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. IIt is great. There are wonderful seafood restaurants there with excellent San Francisco sour dough bread. Near the wharf, as Casey said, is Ghiradelli Square. We love to go to the Ghiradelli chocolate shop and order hot cocoa. It is so delicious there. It's also possible to look at the chocolate being cooked and stirred in gigantic bowls. It is a most amazing place. M-m-m-m chocolate. The cable cars are also quite fun in San Francisco. I visited China Town when I was very small and it was a complete thrill. I still have a tiny, tiny chinese pitcher I got when I visited China Town with my grandmother when I was about 5 years olf. The shops and restaurants are fun. I don't know about the night life and such there now, but my son, lives and works in SF, and maybe he could give some great hints. He knows lots of good restaurants. Jackie Kenley and her family can also give excellent tips of what to visit and what to see. They are knowledgeable about restaurants and music and museums and all. In Golden Gate Park, one of my favorite things to do is to go to The Japanese Tea Gardens. Yep, visiting San Francisco would be fun. wendy San Francisco...OT Is San Francisco overrated??? For some reason i really want to go there. I dont care about not going to other places i was going ot go to, but for some reason i want to go to SF!
