Guest guest
hi Emma - I'm also living in the UK (I am American married to a Brit) - it's been difficult, to be honest. My GP is completely uncooperative and won't order tests or prescribe anything b/c my labs are " normal, " even when I explain how badly I feel. I tried going private but even the private docs seem to be under such strict rules as to what they can or can't prescribe. It may be easier if you're near/in London to find someone private but up here in the NW I've not had much luck. I order supplements from the States b/c there's not much available here. Sorry; I wish I could be more encouraging but it's not been easy. I hope you have better luck. best, (in UK) > > Please let me have the benefit of your experience if you are from the > UK. Guest guest
Hi Emma I'm from Oxfordshire in the UK. I've been struggling with undiagnosed/undertreated hypothyroidism for many years, recently found out about the adrenal connection and as a result have been seeing Dr Peatfield. I'm now on adrenal support (Nutri Adrenal), thyroid support (Nutri Thyroid) plus T3 while I get sorted. It's not easy to know how to balance all the pills, I wouldn't like to try without the support of a knowledgeable doctor. I doubt you'll find anyone in the NHS who is knowledgeable about the thyroid/adrenal connection and how to treat it. I still visit my NHS endocrinologist and they don't know about it (I feel it is my duty to evangelise and educate them, which is why I still attend!), so I fear you'll have to see someone privately, like me. Dr Peatfield travels all over the UK to his 'outreach' clinics so at least you can pick the location that's nearest to you. Best of luck!
