I'm a 38 yr old female and am trying to figure out some labs. Can Val

or others help?

testosterone 41 (34-148)

dhea 256 (14-277)

dhea/cortisol ratio 731 (35-435)

(cortisol was low - am now supplementing HC, but not as of this test)

I'm suspicious of secondary hypo. Does any of this support the

suspicion? Of course, I'm trying to build a case so I can get a dr to

order more pituitary tests - unless someone knows where I can get them

without a prescription.

(I know ZRT says they'll do FSH & LH, but when it comes time to order

- those tests are not available on the list. Of course, there are a

couple of stim tests I'd like to get too.)

Thanks bunches for your help!

First what do you mean secondary hypo? Hypopituitary? Hypothyroid?

Secondary Hypopituitary would usually mean low TSH, low ACTH low LH and

FSH. and the low cortils is not an adreanal probalek but " secondary " to

low ACTh. The labs you mentioned cannot prove this.

Sorry. Didn't mean to cause frustration. I meant secondary hypot. I'm

just having a hard time getting labs from my dr. and am pouring over

the old ones again. I haven't worked in weeks and am just desperate to

get my life back. I'll try to be more clear next time. I'm just trying

to find a pattern a clue.

Secondary hypothyroid wopuld be a low TSH wiht low Free Thyroid hormone

levels, in other words the thyroid is fine but not getting the message

from the pituitary (TSH) to make enough hormones. You can only tell that

from a TSH and Free Thyroid hormone testing.
