Guest guest
, You ARE an addict and should never go cold turkey! Those headaches are nasty! Why not wean down gradually? Although personally, I would never give up coffee. I've given up everything else, but still drink one cup in the a.m. Dahlia > > > > > > I htink either Ibuprophen or aspirin would be fine. Guest guest
Unfortunately, I have had to quit caffeine and it was really hard for me since I love the taste of coffee. I still slip up once in a while but when I do I really feel it. I do feel that caffeine very negatively affected my energy levels by the next day. I would feel great from the caffeine rush while I drank it, but the next day I paid for it with crushing fatigue. I do think I was jerking my adrenals around with caffeine. I do still drink decaf but try to limit that, too, and 2-3 cups of decaf don't seem to affect me like caffeinated coffee (but it sure tastes horrible LOL!) Guest guest
Caffeine is a stimulant, which is why they don't want pregnant women using it in any form. I'm sure I trashed my adrenals with caffeine while in college. I've been on and off caffeine since then, but I've been " clean " for the last few years. Now if I have " real " coffee, my stomach burns--so that's my incentive. I love coffee, but drink decaf. Of course, if you drink *good* decaf. you don't notice the difference so much, but you do have to put up with the nimrods who rag on you about " unleaded ain't no fun. Guest guest
Now that I have almost entirely switched to decaf, I use flavored coffees. It helps make up for the lack of flavor and off flavor of decaf. And I only use half and half in mine, a good half and half with no carrageenan, which really affects the flavor and mouth feel of cream and half and half, to me. Plus I " m sensitive to it. The longer I've been on decaf, the less I notice the flavor issue. But I'd love to be able to go back to real coffee again, simply for the taste. I can't drink the robusta bean coffees at all, whether decaf or not, LOL. sol Mark Munyon wrote: > Carol I'm a coffee roaster and although you can find some decafs that > taste ok the decaf process (no matter which one used) will ALWAYS > remove some of the good coffee flavors. > >

Switching to decaf was the total extent of the coffee sacrifice I'm willing to make. Maybe dumb, but my diet is so restricted due to allergies and sensitivities, and avoiding sugar and too many carbs, etc, that I'm at my limit. A person has to have some enjoyment. And, to paraphrase Mark Twain, I want to be sure I still have some bad habits to give up on my deathbed. LOL sol
Guest guest
Here's how I see it: eat right, exercise, live the good life, die anyway. So yes, we all need to keep SOME joy in our life! I hve to say that www.deansbeans.com has some of the best I have ever had anywhere and they have decaf that even tatses good! I have been buying my coffee from them for about the last3-4 years and it is great! All organic too so alot of the problems in coffee are just not there. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
