In women who have had a child, the average uterus size is 9 cm by 6 cm, and the endometrium is about 4 cm thick. http://www.ivillagehealth.com/experts/womens/qas/0,,242103_194752,00.html? In a premenopausal woman, each ovary measures about 3.5 cm long by 2 cm wide by 1 cm thick, or about the size of a walnut. The ovaries get smaller as a woman reaches menopause. http://www.thewellnesscommunity.org/programs/active/ovarian_cancer/understanding\ /default.asp According to one doctor, calcification can be an indication that a fibroid has degenerated and been partially replaced with calcium. http://forums.obgyn.net/forums/womens-health/WHF.0002/0391.html Cheryl At 07:34 PM 3/6/2004 -0500, you wrote: If anyone could please tell me what the 'normal' size of a uterus, endometrium and ovaries are, I would really appreciate it. > What dos calcification mean? Guest guest
>I've had the following labs done and have started supplements to get my iron, B12, vitamin D, and potassium up. > >Should I be taking any other supplements according to my labs? > >How long should I be taking these supplements before being tested again? Looks like you've got it pretty well identified. you will need a lot of iron to get that up, 150 to 200mg of elemental iron a day in 2 doses is suggested. You need to ramp up to that dose. You may well need a lot of potassium to get that up as well, I would suggest you retest potassium in a couple of weeks to see if it's moving at all on the dose you are on. The iron will need a couple of months to get anywhere and as you need to stop taking iron for 5 days before testing it's not worth doing it too often.
