Chantelle:

Try using a Windows 98 startup disk to reformat your drive. Once formatted

and partitioned, you need a copy of XP, which you are saying you didn't get

with the computer. If you get a copy of the software from someone else, you

may later have problems in that it will tell you it is a " pirated " version.

This will not allow you to update your programs. Since you didn't get the

XP disks with your computer, I'd go back to the store where you got it and

request them. (I wouldn't take your computer to them.) Even if the

computer came loaded with everything, you should still have recovery and

operating system disks. These disks should prompt you how to recover and

reformat. Good luck!

Subject: Off Topic: Computer's still broken

Ok ive tried to reformat my computer but I dont know whats wrong. it will

say that it formats then just gets stuck and never gets to the windows

desktop. The place I got my computer never gave me a windows XP disk. My

version of windows XP is Windows XP Media edition (2005). I have the

authentacation code but no disk. Also could someone tell me how to format? I

could do it on the old computers. Sigh if ANYONE has this version of windows

XP and can copy the disk, please send it to me. My adress is in the Miami

conference package. I might be able to check my email on Thursday but thats

the earliest. Next chance will be likely next tuesday.

I dont want to take it somewhere into a shop to have them charge me an arm

and a leg! I just dont have the money atm!

Help!
