Guest guest
so val, you would say it's ok to take some HC if i feel a so called 'panic attack' coming on in replace of the ativan and on top of my 22.5mgs HC? i just started an increase bc temps are fluctuating so we'll see if even this is enough. i've noticed the panic/anxiety going down a little but still have some episodes...i'm assuming this will also get better as i reach my optimal dose of HC? also, ativan in the past and lorazepam sometimes were the ONLY things that would help with these attacks and sometimes not help fully. i know they work on GABA receptors to calm you, but can you explain why benzos might also help with low cortisol drops? do they help ease the adrenaline? thanks so much...the panic attacks can be horrifying! > > >>periods of low cortisol, cortisol plummeting, somewhat of an adrenal > crisis etc? i've been to the ER 3 times now in my life for > severe 'panic attacks' that i wonder if were more of adrenal crises and > again if so would a small dose of HC be an alternative treatment to > ativan?<< > > I would try even 5MH of HC for these symptoms. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ >
Guest guest
How are you dosing the HC? I am fairly certain the Benzos work onthe receptors to deaden their sensitivity to the adrenaline. Why it sometimes doesn;lt seem to work would be times when the adrnealine is just too much and pushes through to it;s recepotors anyway. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
val i just upped to 22.5mgs from 20 a couple days ago bc still having low cortisol symptoms and temps are fluctuating. i dose by 10-5-5-2.5 now (added 2.5 to my morning dose) the panic has come on and off for years, i now know to low cortisol in general, but when it comes at night it hits with a vengeance, like i said waking me out of a sound sleep in sheer terror. maybe take an extra 2.5 before bed? and still it's ok to take 2.5-5 on top of what i do now if i experience low cortisol/panic? this should subside once i reach enough cortisol? > > How are you dosing the HC? Guest guest
Yes I would take the extra 2.5 before bed. Many of us need that bedtime dose to carry us through the night. It should stop these when you get adjusted right. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
thanks mark! i didn't think i was alone in this seeing some others going through anxiety and panic...mine has just been SO severe sometimes over the years and yes now just figuring/relating it to low cortisol. i did as val suggested and took 2.5 mgs as soon as i read her post instead of 2mg ativan and i WAS alot calmer within about 15 minutes and feel MUCH better right now. i tell val all the time but i'm SO thankful for this group and ALL of you for your help and support. i'm glad we all found each other > > > > periods of low cortisol, cortisol plummeting, somewhat of an adrenal > > crisis etc? i've been to the ER 3 times now in my life for > > severe 'panic attacks' that i wonder if were more of adrenal crises and > > again if so would a small dose of HC be an alternative treatment to > > ativan? > > >
