Guest guest
As our kids are physically multi-system involved, they are also multi-brain involved. (strange wording I know, but bear with me.) Taking the principle in nature that " Form follows Function " , we know that we create skills by conceptualizing, then trying, then practicing, then perfecting. And so we go from lying to rolling to sitting, crawling, walking, running, etc.provided the potential is there. So, with time, as we call on the brain to perform hertofore unrealized functions, it will learn how to conform, and perform. We've seen in the academic arena, that once those learning paths have been " created " and established, many CHARGE kids excel in their studies. We provided many compensations to normal learning modalities to allow time and individualized attention during the 'creation' process. And obviously, building new neuro-pathways is complex and difficult, and evokes emotional response and fatigue, which we attempt to minimize. But knowing that we can produce new neuropaths, we again employ " form following function " through techniques such as HANDLE. in Ma. Guest guest
, and if you use an approach like HANDLE creting those new pathways must be gentle, not difficult, because stress is counterproductive to the learning.
