Guest guest
I seem to have all the symptoms of low cortisol, and I can't afford saliva tests right now, so have to rely on blood tests from doc. I just finally was able to have a morning blood draw on 2/25/08 at 9:19 a.m. Cortisol, Random result was 17 (Ref Range 2-25) That seems pretty high in relation to how I feel every morning. That morning, the blood was drawn after 9am (the earliest appt I could get). I woke up at 7am, with only about 6 hours sleep, and had to drive in rush hour traffic (which I'm not used to). Do things like that immediately affect the cortisol so that it would raise it or does the test measure a period of time? My afternoon is consistently low, but the doc won't treat it because it is in range and my DHEA-S is in range and up from 55 in May 2007 - does that make sense? Here are my most recent thyroid/pm cortisol results: These are all blood draw at 2:24 PM on 12/7/07 Free T3 = 3.9 (Ref Range 2.3-4.2) Free T4 = 1.32 (Ref Range 0.73-1.95) TSH = <0.1 (Ref Range 0.3-5.1) DHEA Sulfate = 131 (Ref Range 35-430) Cortisol, Random = 4 (Ref Range 2-25) My current dose of Armour is 240mg split in 3 doses (60/90/90). Thanks so much for any help! Dawn
