Guest guest
Val, This is the first I have read that being flat line on estrogen while taking cortisol can cause diabetes! I am flat line on both estrogen and progesterone; will actually be supplementing soon, but I have been on Cortef since Oct 2007. And it scares me that I might have caused diabetes unknowingly. What should I do? Would the quickest be to get a glucose meter and check fasting glucose tomorrow am? Or do I need some other test? I'm starting to become obsessed with this (which is a low cortisol symptom, I know). Please adivise. Thanks, Sharon wrote: >If it is a pit problem you will need other hormones as well, >possibly before and to be able to optimize thyroid and cortisol. Guest guest
If you are concerned about it an despecuiall yif there is a family tendency to Diabetes a Glucose meter is peace of mind. I believe my Dibetes started when I stopped estrogen supplementation and as I have had a comlete hyst when very young, my adrenals did not stand a chance of making enough on their own. The timing is right for me when I started haci=ving symptoms of high glucose, excess thrist and blurred vision. Started for me abotu 4-6 months after stopping estrogen. Many pharmacies have free glucose meters if you ask, but the strips will eat you alive, I buy mine on Ebay and savew some money on them. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
