Guest guest
Hi . Nice to hear from you. Like everyone else, 's balance was an issue and continues to be still. She used a frame to maintain balance and was great for independence until age 3-1/2, then she too had s drunken walk but still needs hand held in streets (partly vision, partly balance and the UK uneven pavements). We have never had a helmet for her except for cycling which I am convinced is likely to compromise sound reception as the microphone is under the helmet. I have heard of people cutting a hole in the helmet to accomodate the implant but the length of time J is using that helmet does not justify this. is has a good point about 1:1 in educational settings. J has had one since she was 2 and still does. Has had a statement of educational needs? Is 1:1 included? Of course I am not familiar with the processes in S Ireland, but make sure all angles are covered to ensure he can access the curriculum and that health and safety is maximised. Good 1:1s know when to hang back and alow the child to be among their peers and explore independence and when to be on hand to enable. Good luck in your search. > > Ethan has a CI and poor balance.
