Hi Val and all,

Just wanted to up-date you. I was having puffy face and water

retention within a few days of going up to .1 mg Florinef, and Val

advised me to cut hc 2.5 mgs every 3 days. I was terrified of

cutting hc, as I was afraid of crashing. For a few days, I was

pretty exhausted, but as I continue to cut back, my temps are

steadily rising and the fatigue is lessening and the puffiness/water

retention is definitely better. My face is still rounder than it

should be, but less so :).

I had planned on trying to raise armour 15 mg this weekend, as I am

only at 45 mgs, having crashed last winter on a higher dose. But I

think I will hold steady on armour for a few more days, as I continue

to cut hc. Today I will be at 30 mgs, which I haven't been at for at

least 6 months! I read a sticky from that some folks can go

down a full 10 mg of hc when they're on Florinef. My usual dose had

been about 35-37.5, but in January I had been on 40 mg. I have no

idea how low on hc I can go! I'm still not getting any low cortisol

symptoms.

One other note, which is that my sleep has improved dramatically

since hitting .1 mg Florinef. I have not had to use benzos to sleep

for the past 4 nights--for over 15 years, I've never been able to

sleep without the aid of ativan or klonopin, so this is pretty

amazing to me. This wasn't anything I was trying to do...one night, I

found I just didn't want to take one and haven't since.

Thanks Val for the good advice to lower hc before doing anything else-

-you are so right!

Dahlia
