Guest guest
My daughter had tubes put in her ears b/c we were told that she had conductive hearing loss in her left ear. They didn't fall out on their own so the ENT surgically removed them. When he removed the left side I was told her eardrum pushed right back into the ear or something???...basically, her eustachian tube is extremely small, compared to her right side. This doesn't surprise me b/c a lot of her facial abnormalities are all on the left side. Anyway, I was told that she would have to have a tube in her left ear for the rest of her life, or live with a hole in the eardrum b/c of her eustacian tube. The dx isn't too optimistic that she will grow out of it. We live in a small town and I do trust what he says but I want to know if her euchastian tube doesn't grow larger can it be surgically fixed? The dx now tells us no. Can anyone recommend a dx or hospital that has specialties in this? Thanks for any advice - we get a lot from this group!
