Guest guest
Hi~ Is it a vocabulary problem? as in he doesn't know the meaning of the words? Or can he not conceptualize the words? I mean that he cannot paint a picture in his mind from the words? Are there so many words that he's overly fatigued-overwhelmed by them? Could he possibly have something along the lines of dyslexia, that hasn't been spotted yet? There are minimum grade requirements regarding information- was never required to deal with a full course of material. Are we sure he's hearing class discussion? You are saying he can't even get the info in, correct? The next step, as I understand it, is the processing problem, when you've taken in the info but can't organize it, or turn around and express it back out. But the problem is occuring prior to that stage? ---- had a neuropsych eval. aimed at her educational needs, and it was determined that she is a visual learner, as opposed to auditory. But perhaps Tim is an auditory learner, or a tactile learner. Material on tape is a huge help if he visually fatigues. ---- I wonder if you could take one single pertinent historical event and draw it out, or act it out with little soldier guys, and see what happens. You may have to train his brain to make those visual pictures, then visual gestaults, then eventually word gestaults. ---- and you should be getting alot more help from the school. This is nothing new in Chargeland. --- And, as I have zero edu. training-you might need to delete this whole thing, I'm just fishing. Good luck! in Ma. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
