I thought I'd share again, now that I have a few minutes, and update all of

you what we've been doing with our lives.

Things have been quite busy here. I am finally finishing my degrees with a

bachelors in Psychology with my independent studies in Special Ed. I will

complete my Masters in Special Ed for children who have Severe Disabilities by

next year. It's tough as I am working in Special Ed full time, being a mom

and wife, and taking four classes with two being on the weekend. I'm doing

well but it sure is taking tons of organizing strategies to keep things in

order. I'm doing it but it feels like the skin of my teeth.

My capstone, or final research paper, will be on technology in relation to

communication and access to education. You can bet CHARGE will be in there.

It will be on the top of the list. I am so excited. Also, next Wednesday I

have to present on academic essays concerning a topic of my choice. I will

be presenting CHARGE from Brown and Tim Hartshorne's research and

papers. My professor, who I admire, is excited about the whole thing. I am

now

trying to get her to be my Capstone advisor.

Patty's doing well. Her vision has changed a bit and she needed stronger

glasses. Now that she's an adult she's on a subsidized insurance in addition

to mine. Hers is what pays for the glasses. I never knew how many hoops you

have to jump through just to get glasses that darken with the light. I mean

my gosh you would have thought we were asking for the moon. She's getting

them though.

Patty's life remains a struggle but I am delighted she often tells me that

she's happy. It's one step forward two steps back in this adult world. What

am I am saying, in the CHARGE world. She does have a new wonderful Rehab

provider. They're meeting again tomorrow. I am praying things begin to move

faster soon. I think they will.

a is doing fantastic. I am comforted to see how content and happy

she is with life. She's worked harder this year than ever. Thankfully she is

finally at the end of her educational career ending with a masters in Speech

and Language. I find it remarkable how many siblings go into careers that in

some way help others. Of course their siblings had an impact on their lives

but I also think it is because they were just born that way. We were given

miracles, our children who have CHARGE, and our children who don't. Anyway,

she's done well and now deserves to let her light shine.

I hope you all know I miss you but I can't be on this list as much as I

want. I think of all of you often and bop in now and then to read about your

lives. What a wonderful family it is here. I wish you joy.

I have to stop my procrastinating and get back to another paper I have to

write. :(

I can so identify with you right now! I have one year left of courses to

finish my psychology degree and education degree, then onto MEd in Special

Education (where I can finally do what I want - write a thesis about

education & CHARGE). Best of luck Bonnie - I'm there with ya! It's not

easy, but it'll be worth it when we're done!

Hugs,
