Guest guest
Hi all, I am new to this group and have a few questions I am hoping some of you can answer for me. I started taking Armour, 30mg twice daily, 10 days ago. I was hopeful I would finally start to feel better but I actually feel much worse. I have been taking an OTC adrenal supplement, Adrenal Stress End, since the end of January. Since starting the Armour, I am feeling much more fatigued and very depressed. I am on the verge of tears or crying all day long. Initially when I joined the group (last night), I was going to post and ask how long I should expect to wait before feeling better. But when reading the FAQs from the moderator, I read that Dr. Broda recommends giving a dose of Prednisone when starting Armour if the patient's blood pressure is too low in order to avoid having the patient get worse. I wonder if that isn't my problem. A normal bp for me is 88 over 58 up to 92 over 62. So I guess my questions are: Should I contact my doctor and ask for a prednisone boost? Should I discontinue the Armour until my adrenals rebound? Is there a better adrenal supplement I can take that will work better? A major obstacle for me right now (aside from my health) is that my bloodwork always falls into " normal ranges " even though I have 90% of the symptoms of hypothryoidism, so most doctors refuse to treat me. Luckily my sports med doc, who used to be a family practitioner, agreed to write me a prescription for Armour based on my symptoms and the feedback from the nutritionist she referred me to. I am just shy of 39 years old and am accustomed to irregular cycles, stubborn and pervasive acne, severe allergies, GI issues, Reynaud's syndrome, excessive body hair, etc. and I have dealt with those my entire life. The things I can't deal with are the extreme fatigue, poor memory (forgot to pick kids up at school one day, for example), and depression. I refuse to believe that none of my symptoms are related and that an antidepressant will solve my problems. The nutritionist continues to call my situation " sub-clinical hypothyroidism " but the medical community doesn't seem to be on board. I would appreciate any advice anyone cares to offer. Thanks in advance! ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing.
