Guest guest
Hi there. It's the middle of the night and I'm up after Luke's nurse woke me up to show me the start of some red lines from pressure from the flanges on Luke's trach. Luke has a really short fat little neck. He even seems a little puffier in his face and neck lately (maybe someone has ideas about what that would be too). The flanges are really starting to cut into his skin and I want to take care of this before it turns into something worse. I put a small piece of gauze under the flanges for now so hopefully that'll help until morning. I'm putting a call into the ENT doc right away in the morning but I thought I'd post this problem on the list too. I figure there must be other CHARGE kids that have had this problem since they tend to have such short necks. I'd really appreciate any ideas. Thanks.
