Guest guest
I've had sleeping problems on/off since starting the HC (no previous problems sleeping). Things seemed to level out the last 2 weeks but last night I could not get to sleep or stay asleep. My last two doses of 5 and 2.5 were at 6:45 pm and 10:15pm. Were these too much, too close? I'm dosing 12.5/10/5/2.5. The morning dose is around 9-9:30. The mid-day 1-1:30. The later afternoon one has been slipping down to dinner time which is 6-7:00ish (I know I should take it earlier but it's easier to remember taking it around meals). The bedtime time 2.5 is usually 10-10:30pm. Should I cut out the bedtime dose? Add the 2.5 bedtime to the evening or take it earlier in the day? I don't feel like I am having any symptoms of needing a dose earlier in the afternoon. Thanks, Janet _________________________________________________________________ Connect and share in new ways with Windows Live. http://www.windowslive.com/share.html?ocid=TXT_TAGHM_Wave2_sharelife_012008
Guest guest
12.5/10/5/2.5. With this dosing I suspect you need more at night rather than less. I would try going to 10 - 10 - 5 - 5 as lowering the AM dose will allow your body to produce more of it's pwn cortisll later in the day and then raising the bedtime dose willhelp you sleep through the night. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

I was so weak and dizzy I felt like I was going to pass out, hence the h/c plus a tablet that helps the balance system which was necessary to get rid of the horrible back of the head dizziness. After about an hour it settled down. I could not sleep when I went to bed at 11 pm cos my nervous systemp felt very anxious and I could feel my heart thumping so as an experiment I took another 2.5 mg h/c. It was a disaster complete insomnia, for the whole of the night I was awake until 5.30 am with symptoms that come from too high bp. I got up a midnight and took my bp and indeed it was a lot higher than normal for me about 135/84 and it was definitely the extra cortisol that did this cos actually my pulse was normal. My normal bp is around 120/72. My normal dose of steroid is 5mg Prednisolone plus 1 mg lunchtime but because I am trying to get over a major adrenal crash I have been adding in extra h/c at lunchtime and 6 pm so I will stick with this and definitely won't take any extra h/c before bed. Yesterday I only needed my usual dose of steroid and I slept really well but I am exhausted today again so have had to add in extra h/c and lots of salt.
