Guest guest
Sorry to be melodramatic...I am so very frustrated. Here's the scenario: Finished up the IV iron 3 weeks ago, ferritin is now at 184. That's good news. I am currently on 27.5 mg Cortef, lowered from 32.5 I am taking 42.5 mcg Cytomel, spread over 4 doses. Average temps are pretty steady around 97.2. Every single time I try to raise the Cytomel to 50 mcg, I get a racing heart. Tonight my pulse jumped to 102 on one occasion, but otherwise hung around 84-88 (resting). I've read that 60-100 is normal, but this feels very uncomfortable for me and I can't sleep. I took my temp during this time and it was 97.3. My hands are cold, I feel cold...no other symptoms of a " dump. " My other symptoms are not improved - cold hands and feet, brain fog, knee pain, lower leg swelling, feel chilled. So, any ideas???? Should I try going back up on Cortef? I was at 32.5 a few weeks ago, but lowered it to see if it would help with the racing heart. It did seem to help with that a little, but my face broke out in the same rash that I had in my pre-HC days and my temps are not as dead-on steady as they were. Still within .2, with 3 exceptions over 2 weeks' time. Also, my period started 7 days earlier than normal...my Cytomel has been pretty consistent since my last cycle; Only thing that has changed has been the Cortef. To make it more interesting...one night I was having palps, took my bedtime dose of Armour a little early, and they went away. This was on my current dose of 27.5 mg HC. I tried that trick tonight and it didn't work...same dose of HC. I've probably confused everyone...I'm so confused myself. I am really afraid of taking too much Cortef. My hair is so thin and I can't lose this weight...Okay, now I am crying...PMS is not helping here! Is there some other reason that temps won't go up? Maybe I should go back up on the HC even though my temps are pretty steady? What do you think?
