Guest guest
Hi, My name is and I just joined this group. I do know this post is choppy and I apologize. I really feel bad right now. I have been reading your link section and trying to learn all I can. First I guess I should tell you some history? A little over 2 years ago my regular MD found a lump in my neck. After testing it was found that is was Thyroid CA papillary ( the best kind I hear to have ) So, I had surgery to remove the lump. When I came out of surgery I was told they had discovered I had Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and that there were three other lumps with CA so they went ahead and took out the whole thyroid. Post surgery they discovered my potassium level was very low. ( can't remember the numbers ) so they put me on potassium supplements for several months. I recovered, and so far have had not had a reoccurrence of CA. I can't take Synthroid or any pill that has a dye in it. So I am on (levoxil, 50 mcg ) 125 mcg even days 150 mcg odd days. Reason for this the white pill without the dye comes only in 50 mcg. When I was on 150 mcg a day( three 50 mcg pills ) I became hyper. Last TSH was 9 so I am very hypo right now. I have never had my thyroid to be at the " normal " range since my surgery. Md around here will not even talk to me about any natural thyroid medication or the addition of T3. So I am stuck with T4 med. I also think I might have adrenal problems undiagnosed. My sister has POTS ( adrenal fatigue ) so there is a history. I did mention this to my old End last visit and he ran said my adrenal was OK. I am in the process of finding a endo in my area that participates with my insurance. A couple of months ago I ended up in the ER with Atria Fib and a potassium of 2.6,. I could not move and felt like I was going to faint even when lying down. Md's said it was a good thing I came in when I did. My blood pressure was 210/110 and with my heart in Atria Fib(300 plus) I was headed for a stroke. It is very scary when you hear the Md ask the nurse " Is she a code or no code? " They thought my heart was going to stop. They do not know why my potassium was so low ( I am not on diuretics or any drugs that would cause my potassium to be low ) nor can they tell me why my heart went into atria Fib ( my heart is fine with there testing ) My anxiety is so bad they have put me on ativan and I am now on a Beta blocker for the blood pressure. My potassium level is now 3.8 but my anxiety is so bad. I am really at a lost. I know something is wrong and it is not a mental condition but endocrine related. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if everything is not spelled right or if I rambled on.
