Guest guest
We do have a hazardous waste drop off day. One a year. Miss it and you're stuck storing that toxic waste 12 more months! I have always wondered if they don't go through any meds/supps to see if there is anything with any street resale value, though. LOL. Forgive my cynicism, but I doubt pain meds etc actually get destroyed. sol groupiestuff wrote: > Call your county/city health department. Guest guest
Once a year??? That's nuts. Everyone would just throw it in the trash. Costco had a blurb in one of their magazines that they send to members stating that we could take it to their pharmacy. I tried taking it and they had no idea what I was talking about. They took it, but I bet they just trashed it. jin > > We do have a hazardous waste drop off day. One a year. Guest guest
Yes, once a year, and I bet most people do just throw toxics in the trash rather that store them until the next hazardous waste drop off day. I will ask my pharmacist, but I bet they have no way to properly dispose of unused meds or supplements. I DO know that when I asked about disposal of used needles they told me to just put them in a lidded plastic bottle and dispose of in the trash. They said that is basically what is done with the " toxic " / " sharps " containers in dr.s offices and the hospital here--they go into the regular garbage. Unbelievable. (I was giving a pet injections of penicillin for a year and a half, and at one time had 3 animals all getting penicillin jabs--so I had a LOT of used needles to dispose of). sol groupiestuff wrote: > Once a year???
