Guest guest
Dear Brownie- CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! On the success and continued wonderful recovery and progress of the surgery and the TWO inches~~!!!! Also, thank you so much for sharing your story. has been in a Milwaukee brace for a year and a half now. His kyphosis is resolving, and his " S " type scoliosis is changing wildly. The orthopedist is in general " happy " , as stands centered and appears symmetrical. However to look at the x-ray - the angles of the curves are greater - albeit in balance. The effect on is he has limited ability/range of motion when he has his brace off. Hopefully as the kyphosis stabilizes we can focus the bracing on the scoliosis. It seems from the orthopedist's attitude that he is not concerned about the scoliosis - I suppose it's sort of like dental braces - there is a priority of correction, and some areas suffer during the correction of others - however, the word " surgery " has wandered near my mind as I look at the " s " curve become more and more dramatic. .... and your sharing of your son's journey has brought me great comfort and optimism if we do need to face that choice. Thank you so very very much for lighting a path from which I have been averting my eyes away- Yuka Re: Scoliosis Good for ! Obviously very brave, both Mother and son.
