Guest guest
I would like to repeat, no offense, that baking soda is PURE bicarbonate of soda (sodium bicoarbonate) so there is NO possibility it contains aluminum. Combination products might contain aluminum, but sodium bicarbonate doesn't. IF it did, the aluminum would be part of the chemical name. (FWIW I live near where Church and Dwight processes mined trona ore into baking soda and washing soda). My husband works in a trona mine, and has done for over 30 years. It IS true there may be trace amounts of other substances in " pure " chemicals, though. Aluminum, being the 4th most common element in the earth's crust is ubiquitous, and cannot be entirely avoided. Sea salts contain aluminum, and mercury too, and a lot of other " toxic " minerals/metals. I personally don't use antiperspirants because the FORM of aluminum they contain readily penetrates the skin and enters the bloodstream. I also use aluminum-free baking powder. And I don't eat aluminum cans. Other than those precautions, I don't worry about it.
