Guest guest
Hi Kim- You might have tried this already - but if not, it is worth a try. Download the latest drivers for your monitor and your video card. Also, reset your refresh rate on your computer. In the United States computers are allowed to set the refresh rate as low as 70 - whereas in Europe and England there are laws prohibiting it to be below 80 and 100 or more depending on the size of the monitor. The larger the monitor, the higher the minimum refresh rate needed. If the refresh rate is too low you will experience the flickering - like a bad ballast on a fluorescent bulb.... Here are step by step instructions from Microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311403 There should be a box you can click on to have the system only show you refresh rates which are supported by your monitor. We reset a 19 inch CRT from 70 to 120 and it made a world of difference.... best- Yuka Re: conference It's the movement (flicker) combined with the lights that is the problem and filters don't work on the newer computer screens. I have a filter on my glasses, but it's not enough. Add scrolling to it and it is much worse. So I have been saving my computer time for what I have to get done. Kim .
